  • Worship Related Ministries
  • Worship is the focal point of everything we do as a faith community. Lay persons participate in Good Shepherd's worship services by serving as acolytes, lectors, chalice bearers, altar guild members, ushers/greeters, Christian actors, and musicians.
  • Youth/Children - Education Ministries
  • Nursery

A clean, well-equipped nursery provides care for infants and toddlers each Sunday morning. Paid staff and volunteers administer nursery care.
  • Leaders and Teachers

Children from pre-school through high school participate in the Youth/Children-Education Program which meets on Sunday mornings. Our scripturally based program provides creative Christian education and a strong sense of being part of the faith community.
  • Pastoral Care
  • The Pastor and Lay Eucharistic Ministers share in bringing Holy Communion to the sick and shut-ins. Other lay members assist in ministries ranging from providing transportation to church services, delivering altar flowers, and assisting with food or other needs during family crises.
  • At Good Shepherd pastoral care is a mutual ministry that enables Clergy and people to minister to one another and those beyond our parish.
  • Outreach
  • Reaching outside of our own walls and our individual comfort zones has long been the work of our parish. We are called by the Good Shepherd to go out into the world, and we do so by:
  • Proclaiming God’s Word
  • Friendship Evangelism is lovingly performed by the entire congregation.
  • Serving others in God’s Name
  • Soupers
Throughout the year volunteers make delicious soup and freeze 30 quarts to be delivered to the New Britain Food Larder. Also many quarts are sold and the money raised is used for other outreach programs.
  • Handcrafts for Charity
  • A group of Good Shepherd knitters and crafters stay busy making hand-knitted and crocheted afghans, sweaters, hats, mittens, scarves, socks and other handcraft items. These items are donated to A Woman’s Place, which is a legal advocacy for battered women.
  • We are also members of Heifer International and Episcopal Community Services, supplying outreach to the world and inner city Philadelphia.
